Communications and Transport
The technology and transport sector includes a total of 26 qualifications, all with a scope of three years or 120 credits (one credit is equivalent to 40 hours of a student's work). They share a common background in technology and natural sciences and those who complete the qualifications find placements in a very wide variety of different assignments in the manufacturing industry, in high technology, small enterprises and transport. The qualifications include 60 study programmes, which shows the wide spectrum of occupations in the technology and transport sector.
A three-year qualification provides general eligibility for further study at polytechnics, universities of technology and multidisciplinary universities. Typical degrees completed in further studies include Bachelor of Engineering and Master of Science in Engineering. Advanced vocational qualifications include several further and specialist vocational qualifications.
